1.USER AGREEMENT

By using and/or registering to use this website you are entering into a contract with Standard Computers Australia Pty Ltd (SCA) ABN: 81 051 975 458. To purchase off this website you agree that you are at least 18 years of age, alternately you have permission from your parents and/or legal guardian to use this site. Standard Computers cannot and will not take responsibility for people who breach the terms and conditions of this site. If required, we will take steps to the full extent of the law to prosecute person/s and/or parents and/or legal guardians who breach the terms and conditions of this site. Standard Computers Australia can and will terminate any users account that is found to be breaching this site terms and conditions.

2.PRIVACY

3.ORDERS POLICY

This website is updated multiple times a day and at the time of update all stock levels are true and correct. Please understand that between updates stock levels can change rapidly, therefore availability cannot be guaranteed.

Please make your decision carefully! Once the goods have left the store unfortunately there will be additional charges to make changes to your order.

Due to the high levels of fraud SCA will not process international credit cards or deliver goods to addresses outside Australia.

SCA reserves the right to cancel any order for any reason.

4.STOCK

a. Product Descriptions

Standard Computers Australia and its associates attempt to be as accurate as possible. However, Standard Computers Australia does not warrant that product descriptions or other content of this site is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free. If a product offered by Standard Computers Australia itself is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it in unused condition.

b. Availability
  • In Stock: There are greater than 2 in stock at SCA.
  • Low Stock: There is 2 or less in stock.
  • On Order: Goods are on order from the suppliers and an ETA will be provided upon ordering.

5.CANCELLATIONS

  • All cancellations are to be made in writing within 24 hours of the order and emailed to [email protected].
  • SCA comply with the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.
  • Cancellation of orders may result in a Restocking Fee (usually 20%). Goods that need to be Ordered in / Speciality Goods may incur a larger Restocking Fee and will be assessed on a case by case basis.
  • In addition to a Restocking fee, any freight charges will not be refunded if possession of the goods has passed to the freight handler. Additional charges may also be incurred to redirect the shipment. These additional charges will also be passed on to the purchaser and added to any Restocking Fee.

6.SUPPLY/FREIGHT POLICY

a.Supply of Goods

Goods that are listed in stock will be dispatched within 24 to 48 hours of receipt of cleared funds or an appropriate Purchase Order. Most deliveries can be made around Australia within 5 - 7 days of order. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances and 3rd party involvement, SCA cannot and will not guarantee delivery times. Once goods have been collected by the freight carrier you will be emailed an Connote and a web link to track the progress of your order

b.Freight Calculation

Freight is calculated on the dead weight or cubed weight of the goods whichever is greater.

c.Missed Deliveries / Redirection

Once an order is processed and shipped any Missed or Redirected delivers may incur additional costs. It is the purchasers responsibility to make themselves available to receive the delivery. Standard Computers Australia will take no responsibility for goods sent to addresses where people other than the intended recipient may sign for the goods. (IE: Companies, Government Departments, Schools and alike)

d.Goods Damaged in transit

You should refuse any delivery of goods that you believe are damaged. If you do sign for the goods and find they are damaged you must contact us immediately. If you choose to get insurance for you delivery there is a very short window to claim from the freight carrier. Where possible please refrain from opening the goods and if possible take digital photos of the damage and forward them to [email protected].

7.RETURNS POLICY

SCA will endeavour to repair a product first before considering exchanging or refunding a product.

Software Returns will be handled on a case by case basis. Once opened, installed and/or activated/registered there is very little we can do and in most cases returns are not possible.

Repair, Exchanges or Refunds will only be given if the product;

  • Is faulty and you were not aware of it when you bought the product;
  • Does not do the job we led you to believe it would do;
  • Does not match the sample you were shown;
  • Was not as described on this site.

SCA prides ourselves on our customer service but as per the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 we will not refund a customer for the following reasons.

  • You have simply changed you mind.
  • You have seen it cheaper somewhere else.
  • You have opened the goods.
  • You have not returned all of the goods (including original packaging).
  • The goods have been physically damaged.
  • The goods are outside of warranty.
  • You dont have the skills/knowledge to install and configure the product.

8.WARRANTY POLICY

a.SCA Warranty Includes:

Hardware related faults that have occurred in the normal day to day operation of the product. This includes the Electronic Computer System defined as the Central Processing Unit (CPU), including, but not exclusive to, the following;

  • Motherboard,
  • Hard Disk Drive(s),
  • Internal Drives for peripheral equipment,
  • Internal DVD/Blu-ray unit(s),
  • Internal tape back-up unit and drive(s),
  • RAM memory,
  • Internal cards of every description,
  • Internal Speakers,
  • Internal Modems,
  • Power Supply Unit,
  • Monitor.
  • Mouse.
  • Keyboard.
  • All fans will be covered for the first 150 days after installation only.
b.SCA Warranty Excludes:
  • Any consequential or indirect loss or damage.
  • Loss or damage in any way arising from or out of accidental damage to or misuse of computer equipment, fire, lightning, explosion, malicious damage, storm and/or tempest, water damage, aircraft, impact, burglary and / or theft or any attempt thereof.
  • Loss or damage relating to or arising out of any defect in the computer equipment which was known to the User at the time of sale.
  • Any loss or damage directly or indirectly caused by or as a result of war, nuclear weapons, nuclear fuel, contamination by ionising or electromagnetic radiation.
  • Loss or damage arising from or relating to the attachment of or incorporation into a computer equipment system additional products or components, unless such attachment or incorporation is carried out by your dealer or an Authorised Standard Computers Australia Service Centre / Agent.
  • Arising out of or relating to reformatting of any disk in any computer equipment.
  • Any defect caused by abuse, improper installation or operation, unauthorised modification, loss of parts, tampering or attempted repair by a person not authorised by Standard Computers Corporation.
  • Arising from failure due to fair wear and tear.
  • Arising from or relating to all batteries, trackballs or other pointing devices, of notebook screens beyond one year from the date of installation, or any other consumable item, fuses, tapes or software.
  • Arising from any loss of data resulting from malfunction of the product purchased, its parts or accessories.
  • Relating to or arising from any damage resulting from fusion and/or the like, lightning, voltage spikes or other fluctuations in power supply.
  • Arising from third party property damage and/or third party bodily injury.
  • By failure to complete the warranty registration form and detail the equipment to be covered by this warranty.
  • Any problems caused by factors other than product defects.

Any warranty shall not be deemed to be valid unless payment to Standard Computers Australia Pty Ltd has been made in full.

Subject to the statutory rights referred to above, all entitlements under this warranty and the liability of Standard Computers is expressly limited and personal to the original purchaser of the new product(s).

Standard Computers Australia may, at its option, repair or replace any defective product or part thereof or pay the value thereof in money after making reasonable allowance for depreciation and fair wear and tear.

Standard Computers Australia does not guarantee any claims by the manufacturer as to compatibility, connectivity or the ability of the product to perform certain functions.

c.Procedure for Warranty Claim

If you believe that the product you have purchased is faulty and is still under warranty please follow the procedure below.

Before requesting a warranty repair, please take the time to check the following;

Make sure you understand the warranty terms and conditions.

If a warranty claim is found not to comply with the terms and conditions set out for repairs under your warranty, a service charge at the rate applicable at the time of the call will apply and be required to be paid before the goods are returned. For this reason, minors will not be permitted to log warranty calls.

Check the installation is correct.

Installation and / or relocation of products are your responsibility and are not covered under normal warranty, with the exception that a Standard Computers Australia representative preformed the service.

Check the controls and settings.

Check that all user controls and settings are set in accordance with the instruction manuals.

Check your software.

Check that all software has been correctly installed and / or reinstalled and all relevant updates have been installed. Software related faults are not covered by warranty. Requests for rectification of problems related to software installation or usage WILL incur a charge, even if a hardware fault has been attended to at the time of the service call. Our service agents will not service any problem caused by use of unlicensed software, original software must be purchased before work will commence. Make sure all internet security is up to date.

Check the accessories.

Any accessories that are attached to the product should be detached and functionality rechecked. A service call in relation to an accessory not covered under Standard Computers Warranty will incur a service charge.

Once you are confident the above steps have been confirmed then proceed with the following;

  • Call our service department on 03 9315 1234, email [email protected] or Click on œGot a question on our website and fill in the form.
  • A lot of products (Laptops, Monitors, and Printers to name a few) warranties are handled by the manufacturer therefore the technician may direct you to call the manufacturer before moving on to the next step.
  • Our service department will try to resolve the issue over the phone and/or via remote desktop.
  • If the problem cannot be solved via the phone/remote desktop. The goods need to be returned to SCA (at the customers expense).
  • Once the fault has been confirmed by our technicians, where possible we will attempt to repair the fault and/or send it to the distributor/manufacturer to repair.
  • If the fault cannot be repaired and the product is still a current model we will replace the product.

9.PRICING POLICY

All prices listed on this site are shown in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST. If the product is not in stock or exceeds our stock level, we cannot guarantee the price that is displayed. An E-mail will be sent confirming an ETA and if there is a price discrepancy.

Pricing displayed on this site does not include (unless specifically stated in writing at the time of purchase)

  1. Freight.
  2. Insurance.
  3. Installation.
  4. Extended warranty.

10.PAYMENT POLICY

a.Credit Card Surcharge.

Due to the low margins in the IT industry we are unable to absorb the fees that Credit Card companies impose on their merchants. Therefore we have no choice to past them on to the credit card holders. The following fees apply;

Mastercard / VISA = 1.5% Surcharge

AMEX / Diners Club = 2.5% Surcharge

b.Direct Deposit.

Refer to Section 11. for the Banking Details. All deposits require a reference number when completing. Please use your Order No as the reference. Once completed you will need to email the remittance to [email protected] or fax (03) 9315 1734. Once the funds are confirmed and cleared in our account your order will move on to the next step.

c.Paypal Surcharge

Unfortunately due to the reason stated in Section 10.a. We have to charge a 1.5% Surcharge.
